I would like to suggest a beautiful experience in the real tropical rainforest, with the Ecotourism Project runned by Amazonia Association NGO.

You can see for yourself the remarkable, unspoiled beauty of the Amazon by visiting the community of Xixuaú. The journey to Xixuaú is made by small groups, travelling by boat from Manaus, along the spectacular Rio Negro and then up the Rio Jauaperi. You will stay in the Xixuaú community itself, in wooden round houses inspired by traditional indigenous Malocas.

During your stay you can make night time and day time excursions by canoe, exploring the igapó and igarapé (flooded forest and labyrinthine creeks). You can trek in the forest, go fishing and camp overnight. In addition to the stunning range of vegetation, you can see birds (parrots, toucans, birds of prey and many others), the endangered giant river otter, grey and pink river dolphins, caiman, various kinds of monkey and may even see jaguars, anteaters, armadillos, agoutis and more. During the high water season (March to September) you can enjoy floating through the flooded forest in a canoe – a magical experience. When the waters fall, beautiful beaches are exposed with fine sand and crystal water.

Ecotourism at Xixuaú gives you a unique opportunity to get to know a region that is still pristine and largely unexplored, right in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.

Today the Lonely Planet Guide recommends the Xixuaú-Xiparinã reserve as one of the best tourist destinations in the Amazônia, it has excellent reviews on tripadvisor.com and is recognised by various tourism sites globally.

Your visit will promote the sustainability, understanding and protection of the forest as well as make a vital difference to the quality of life for the local community. Your visit will play a key role in conserving the Xixuaú-Xiparinã, and for you, will undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience.

Thank you,
Chiara

We need help, hope you can!

We are launching a new ecological program where all the company involved in tourism can easily participate. Each company will take care of at least a tree for a year … don’t worry you don’t have to plant it, our partner Sifoeco will do it for us.

Our goal this month is to plant at least 1000 trees

The directory is just beginning. So far we are doing good, but it is very slow as we try to get in touch with companies on a personal level instead of sending mass mail.

It would be very nice for all of us if you could register this year among the firsts Green Star registered in Planetaeco’s directory. (The cost is only 2.15 dol. a month). (Your whole website will be opened in Planetaeco's directory in different menus and you company located in google earth, plus other benefices...and of course, a tree planted an taken care of).

We really tried to think it “cheap enough” for any company to be able to participate without worrying.. Trust us… the program is as simple as it says…
Will you help?
A very simple act that would help the planet a lot… I really hope you can join us today, we would be very thankful to you to help us make that program grow!!
